SouthTech Schools has a Zero Tolerance Policy7. Prohibited Harassment – For purposes of this policy, harassment occurs when conduct is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that it has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with a student’s performance or ability to benefit from his/her education, or creates an objectively intimidating, hostile, offensive, or abusive school environment. Types of conduct which are prohibited in the Academy and may constitute harassment include but are not limited to:
a. Demeaning or derogatory comments, name-calling, racial slurs, jokes, threats, abusive words, gestures, or harm to an individual; b. Displaying visual or written material, including notes, stories, drawings, or pictures, or defacing school property or materials to demean a person; c. Damaging, defacing or destroying private property of any person; d. Bullying; e. Requests for sexual favors and other conduct of a sexual nature; f. Any act of retaliation against an individual who reports a violation of the Board’s harassment and discrimination policy. |
