Veterinary Assisting
Purpose
Students learn skills through academic instruction as well as hands-on experience. Techniques are mastered through on-the-job training at local businesses (veterinary offices, groomers, etc). Classes explore the role of animals in society, careers in the animal industry, safety, first-aid, animal behavior, lab work, animal hospital procedures, grooming, business management, employability skills, and other valuable topics. Future A graduate of this academy is prepared for employment in the animal industry with veterinarians, groomers, and a variety of other animal professionals , as well as continuing education for a Veterinary Technician degree, or ultimately, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. APPLYING IS AN EASY PROCESS All you have to do is make sure you meet our qualifications and complete an application for enrollment. Students must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0, acceptable discipline records, and a good attendance history.
